On Wednesday, 13 April 2022, the Ezra Group stepped up to ensure new-borns and their mothers at the Al Sabbah Children’s Hospital enjoyed a festive Easter celebration. The Ezra Group visited the children’s hospital to donate gift bags and other essential items to the hospital.
The Ezra Group handed out 30 gift bags to the mothers of new babies. The bags were full of baby necessities, including milk, nappies, wet wipes, a special gift box with baby toiletries, a baby net, a bedsheet, some socks and clothing.
Al Sabbah Children’s Hospital is a referral children’s hospital based in the capital city of Juba and it is the only children’s hospital in South Sudan. Recognising the important work and essential services the hospital provides, the Ezra Group also made a contribution of essential items to the hospital. The Group consulted with the hospital management to find out exactly what the hospital required and delivered these much-needed items. Some of the items donated included 20 thermometers, an oxygen regulator machine, a suction machine, a baby blood pressure machine, a baby weighing scale 10 paediatric stethoscopes, assorted syringes in various sizes, vitamins and medication and various tubing sizes.
The Ezra Group’s, Alexander Tekie, handed over the items to the hospital. While, Ezra Group accountant, Daniel Deng Simon, said, “The Ezra Group is a family company, which means women and children are at the heart of everything we do – which is why this donation is so meaningful. We believe in helping those who need it – as we are all in this together. It is by standing by each other and helping the most vulnerable in our society, that we will all grow and make the world a better place. We hope that this donation can bring a smile to these children and help them feel a little bit better.”
The Deputy Executive Director for the Al Sabbah Children’s Hospital, Dr Felix Nyungura accepted the donation on behalf of the hospital. Dr Nyungura welcomed the Ezra Group and thanked them for their generosity saying, “On behalf of the hospital and all the staff, we want to say thank you to the Ezra Group. We are very happy to receive your donation, the hospital had run out of some items and so we really do appreciate Ezra giving us these much needed necessities.”
