20 MW Solar Hybrid Project
Ezra Construction & Development Group is constructing a 20 MW hybrid solar solution to its existing 33 MW Wartsila Thermal plant. This will bring the bulk energy capacity to a total of 57MW.
South Sudan has good natural solar resources which make Solar PV a competitive and reliable source of clean, renewable energy.

The Solar Farm is located within the compound of the existing thermal power plant in Kondokoro, Juba. The construction is outsourced to Aptech Africa, a Solar EPCC company.
The projected annual energy yield is about 42,048 Mwh. Due to the introduction of a solar solution, an estimated 11,520 kg/per day or 4,200 tons per year of CO2 emission is curbed.
To deliver higher availability and maintainability the power plant is designed with string inverters instead of central inverters, multiple modular transformers and multiple interconnection MV switchgears.
