Ezra Construction & Development Group Ltd. (ECDG)

Ezra Construction & Development Group Ltd. was the first private company to sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Government of South Sudan, without any sovereign guarantee, to generate bulk energy for the city of Juba.

The PPA is for a 100 MW plant which is to be constructed in four phases. The investment value will be US $289 million when it is at full capacity of 100 MW. ECDG has invested in 33 MW Wartsila Engines as the base load and an additional integration of 10 MW of solar energy which is scheduled for commission on September 2022. The company is fully determined to deliver clean energy and will use renewable energy for the balance of the Power Purchase Agreement.

The 33 MW Thermal plant has been operational for the past two years since its inauguration on 21st November 2019 by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of South Sudan.

ECDG is the pioneer in bulk energy generation for the distribution company in Juba and we will continue to build capacity to handle large scale power supply across the city. We are projecting tremendous growth in our quest to supply power and electricity beyond Juba. We will keep looking for opportunities to meet the current and future power and energy needs in South Sudan.
